How to Sign a PDF: A Step-by-Step Guide

This guide is for anyone signing a PDF online for the first time and explains every stage before final processing.

Open the PDF signature tool

What you need

Prepare a readable PDF up to 20 MB. You can also prepare a PNG, JPG, or JPEG signature image, or draw your signature directly in DSign.

  • Identify the page that needs a signature.
  • Make sure the entire signature is visible in the image.
  • Use a stable connection for final API processing.

Sign the PDF

Open DSign and upload your PDF. When the preview is ready, choose Upload Signature or Draw Signature. Select the destination page, drag the signature into position, and resize it without covering important text.

Select Sign Document after checking the placement. Wait for processing to finish, then download the signed PDF to your device.

  • 1. Upload the PDF.
  • 2. Draw or upload a signature.
  • 3. Choose a page and position the signature.
  • 4. Process and download the result.

Check the finished document

Open the result and check its page, position, size, and readability. DSign adds a visual signature; requirements for certified or identity-verified electronic signatures may differ by document and jurisdiction.
